The Chianti Region

Our vineyards are located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region near Siena at an altitude ranging from 300 to 350 metres. The soil, mainly exposed to south-south-east, is a mixture of tuff, silt and marl with a rather stony skeleton.

The average age of our vines is about twelve years but some Sangiovese plants have been preserved for over thirty-five years. The vines are trained with the classical system of ‘spur cordon’ and Guyot, with a reduced number of buds per plant and a density of 3,000 to 5,000 vines per hectare in new plantings. New Sangiovese clones have also been used such as 16/45, 12/10, and BBS11. Our grape yield per hectare is an average of 5 to 6 tonnes, guaranteed, by careful summer ‘green harvesting’ pruning.

This is one of the most celebrated areas of Tuscany, steeped in history and tradition and renowned for it’s beauty and quality of life and of course, it’s famous wines. All our wines are available to order, please be aware that shipping costs will be added and confirmed prior to order confirmation, payment and delivery.

We look forward to your feedback and to welcoming you as a customer either online or in Siena, should you wish to visit our 16th-century Villa in person and sample our wines.
